How it works

How Atempa computes your delivery date

The full journey of an order in Atempa, from the client's enquiry to hand-off, and the exact calculation it runs to tell you when you'll be done.

What does Atempa need to estimate a date?

Three things, and you enter all three once:

  • Your work capacity. How many real hours you work on each day of the week. You can mark full days, half days, days off and one-off exceptions (a holiday, a week away, a day you open longer).
  • The time per product. Every regular job — a table, a ring, a cake, an alteration — stores its standard time in hours. That's your SKU. When you add an order, Atempa already knows how much work it represents.
  • The queue you already have. Every active order, in priority order, with its remaining hours.

With that, Atempa spreads each order's hours across the days you have available, in queue order, and gives you the estimated completion date of every order. When you change a priority, add an order or adjust your hours, all the dates recalculate.

What is "promised date vs. estimated date"?

The promised date is the one you tell the client. The estimated date is the one the calculation above produces. Atempa shows both together on every order. If the estimate lands after the promise, the order turns red and you know you need to reschedule, reorder priorities or add hours — before the date arrives.

How does the rush-job simulation work?

When a rush job comes in, instead of accepting it blind, you simulate it. Atempa drops it into the queue at the position you choose and shows which other orders slip and by how many days. With that, you decide whether to take it, renegotiate the date or pass it on.

An order, step by step

  • 1. Enquiry. The client asks about a job. You create their record (or pick an existing one) from the same order screen.
  • 2. Quote. You add the products and the price. You share the quote via a public link the client opens without signing up.
  • 3. Confirmation. The client accepts. The order moves from "To confirm" into the work queue.
  • 4. Date computed. Atempa estimates the completion date from your capacity and the queue.
  • 5. Work. You progress. If you want, you log the hours already worked and the date adjusts.
  • 6. Payment. You record the deposit and partial payments. The outstanding balance is tracked per currency.
  • 7. Hand-off. You close the order. It stays in the client's history.
